How I will be successful in 2010 So in 2009 I made a big career move. I decided to drop out of college where I was pursuing nursing and start my own business from home. Me, my brother and my father started an online marketing business called The Crocker Group LLC. It took a while to get things setup but I learned a lot from that hard period in my business. I will be able to take the things I’ve noticed ad apply them to this new year and watch my wealth, health, and wisdom grow exponentially. I am gracious for tough times because they truly make us stronger. The first thing I learned is in the area of making decisions. I had to make a huge choice of what to do since i could barely afford college and the economy is so bad that even if I graduated, I most likely would remain jobless. When it comes down to making choices, you need to search what you truly think is the best thing in the long run. t is scary to try to do this because you may be struggling right now but if you make the wrong decision, you will be messed up in the long run. I believe it is better to suffer now for a short time, than prosper now but suffer for a long time in the future. You need to also think of how the decision will affect those around you. I am very lucky to have made the decision I did when I did. I was at the key point in my life to make a big choice. I don’t have a wife or kids that would alter my choice. If you do have a family then you must council with them first before making a big move. Another thing i have discovered is how valuable being opened-minded.

There are numerous things i do today ion my business that a year ago i thought was a terrible idea. Had i taken these things more openly then i would be even more successful than I am. When someone offers their opinion or advice, take it and think about it for a while. It isn’t always smart to just go with your gut. I knew I had to make a choice of staying in college or not and when my father told me about internet marketing and starting a business i thought it was a mistake. I thought “Why would anyone start a business in this economy?” Well now i am in it with him and it happens to be one of the best choices I have ever made in my short life. The last thing I learned is to be persistent. If you fall down 2000 times, get up 2001 times. This is especially important in running a business. You generally will not see the results you want for at least 6 months, sometimes longer. In the career I have chose which is internet marketing, there is a learning curve that takes a short time for some but longer for others. Did you know that 97% of home businesses fail within the first year? Why do you think this is? I really believe that it is directly due to the fact that people give up too easy when they don’t get the results they want.
